Kusika and Zambezi Marimba Band members hail from many places and cultures. Our spring performances feature work informed by these origins as well as traditional and contemporary folklore from Mali, Ghana, Zimbabwe and the Americas. Today’s events become tomorrow’s folklore. We raise the following questions: What is celebrated? What do we forget to remember? “Realize that you are involved in a situation greater than you are.” Sobonfu Somé
