Yoga – Refining our Perceptions
Tuesdays & Fridays 2-3 pm
Fri, Jan 8- Fri, Feb 12 (11 classes)
— co-sponsored by the Chaplains’ Office and Tasha Yoga
These sessions are seriously playful embodied explorations. Each class centers around a key yogic theme from non-dual Shaiva Tantric tradition. Beginning with a brief check in, the session continues to an orientating discussion on the theme, followed by asana practice (45 minutes). The open level yoga practices sensitize us to feel into and experience dynamics of life astutely described in the tradition. This approach aims to open access into the tools yoga brings forward to help us navigate our lives with skill and ease. (45 minutes).
Themes to be considered in the 11 classes include –
- How do I know I’m here?
- Concealment & Revelation aka Peekaboo
- Mind Moves
- Pulsation
- Creating, Sustaining, and Dissolving
- Body, Mind and the Three Qualities of Nature
- What are states of Consciousness
- Soma-Nectar and the Integrative Wholeness of Body
- Releasing
- Yoga as Refined Knowing
- Self-study and Textual Bliss
Limited to 12 students per class to allow for participation, students are invited to come to one or more of the sessions. You are warmly invited to turn on your camera to facilitate interaction and build community. Instructor will be spotlighted during asana practice.
