The Writing Center invites you to join Ezra Feldman, Visiting Assistant Professor of English and Science and Technology Studies, for a workshop on building better sentences. Whether your aim is to think about your own writing from a new angle or to acquire new tools for talking with students about their writing, you will find something useful and exciting in this hands-on workshop. Taking our cue from Stanley Fish’s How to Write a Sentence (and How to Read One), we will practice identifying the logic of sentences, making good choices about who or what acts in our sentences, and revising sentences that are unwieldy.
The workshop will take place on Wednesday, October 13th from 4:30-6pm.
Because this is a workshop, your contribution of sentences for collective study is encouraged! If you plan to attend, please fill out this brief questionnaire by September 24th.
