About Course: In this course we focused on the foundations of Hip-Hop as dance and as culture. The techniques of lockin’, poppin’, breakin’ and 90’s dance and it’s history. This class included across the floor and center combinations allowing the dancers to find their relationship to athleticism, dynamics and articulation of the body. The students watch several documentaries to deepen their understanding of the form as dance and embodied history.
