WILLIAMS CELEBRATES THE CENTENARY OF THE FIRST WORLD WAR (1918-2018)

“Remembering and Forgetting: The Great War in France”

Prof. Susan McCready (University of South Alabama)

Join us for a guest lecture on France & WWI, this Wednesday, October 10, 6PM, Griffin 3.

Susan McCready is Professor of French and Co-Director of the “Center for the Study of War & Memory” at the University of South Alabama.  She is the author of Staging France between the World Wars (2016), and the forthcoming book Commemorative Acts: French Theater and the Great War.

This year-long commemoration of the First World War was co-organized by Brian Martin, Helga Druxes, and Jane Canova of the Center for Foreign Languages, by Sylvia Kennick Brown, Wayne Hammond, and Lisa Conathan of Sawyer Library, and by Andrea Rodas and Sophie Wunderlich of the Class of 2018.
