Williams Chamber Choir

The Williams College Department of Music presents the Chamber Choir under the direction of Anna Lenti on Sunday, April 30 at 3 p.m. in the The Clark Art Institute. This free event is open to the public.

The Williams College Chamber Choir presents David Lang’s The Little Match Girl Passion in its version for chamber choir, SATB soloists, and percussion. This work was the winner of the Pulitzer Prize for music in 2008. In it, Lang sets the text of the traditional Hans Christian Andersen’s story The Little Match Girl in the format of Bach’s St. Matthew Passion, interspersing Andersen’s narrative with his own versions of the crowd and character responses from Bach’s Passion.
