The Williams College Department of Music presents Brass Bash 2012 with the Williams Brass Ensemble on Thursday, May 3 at 7:30 p.m. in Chapin Hall on the Williams College campus. This free event is open to the public.

The concert showcases the ever evolving possibilities of brass chamber music. The Williams Brass Ensemble offers a program of new music in the unique acoustics of Chapin Hall, a venue well suited for brass instruments. This concert’s title: Home Grown – Music of Williams College Composers.

Led by Artist Associate in Trumpet & Director of Brass Ensemble Thomas Bergeron, the group offers a new titles for brass: Powerlines by Byron Perpetua ’14; How We Forgot by Casey McLellan ’14; Cobbled Slope by Sato Matsui ’14; and Fanfare by Adam Strawbridge ’14.  Composer Laone Thekiso ’12 presents Music for Brass and Percussion in Three Movements, featuring the Williams Percussion Ensemble, conducted by Matthew Gold.
