Wildlife Tracking Workshops at Hopkins Memorial Forest

Sun, January 26th, 2025
9:30 am
- 4:00 pm

Wildlife tracking is a wonderful way to see and understand the natural world more deeply. It can transform the average hike from a “fly by” walk to a journey of exploration and discovery.

Dan Yacobellis, a certified Level 3 Track & Sign facilitator, will lead two separate 3-hour wildlife tracking workshops at Hopkins Forest. The morning session will run from 9:30am – 12:30pm, and the afternoon session will run from 1:00pm – 4:00pm. A shuttle will be available from Paresky, departing 15 min prior to the start of each workshop.

Dan will lead participants through fields, forests and swamps to identify, interpret, and understand the tracks and signs left by the resident wildlife. After a session with Dan, you will approach these signs with a new understanding and sense of wonder and curiosity.

Note: Tracking sessions are often slow moving – dress in warm layers! Snacks and hot drinks will be provided at the Rosenburg Center at the end of each session. FREE and open to all, ages 8 and up. Each session is limited to 15 participants. Pre-registration required – click here to register.
