WGSS 363 - Transnational Activism: Practice, Problems, Ethics - now cross-listed as SOC 364

The fall semester course WGSS 363 — Transnational Activism: Practice, Problems and Ethics — is now cross-listed in sociology as SOC 364. Class times are MW 11:00 am – 12:15 pm.

WGSS 363/SOC 364 examines how people have worked across borders to facilitate either domestic or transnational socio-political change. So if you are interested in political sociology, social movements, and/or how regular people across the globe are working to meet big transnational problems like climate change or global inequality, you will enjoy this course. Among other things, we will look at the different forms transnational activism takes, the different strategies activists employ, the different elements of transnational activism, and the question of whether “ethical” transnational activism is any less effective. Take a look at the plan and reading list here. And if you have any questions, feel free to email Prof. Greta Snyder (gfs2) or visit her in Hollander 102.
