Weilerstein Piano Trio

The highly acclaimed Weilerstein Trio, the trio-in-residence at the New England Conservatory of Music, will be performing Mozart’s Trio VI, K. 254; Shostakovich’s Trio No. 2, op. 67; and Dvorák’s Trio in E Minor, op.90 (“Dumky”) in Brooks-Rogers Recital Hall ay 8 p.m. on Saturday, December 9. Members are Donald Weilerstein, violin; Vivian Hornik Weilerstein, piano; and Alisa Weilerstein, cello. The recital is free.

The trio has appeared in many major cities, giving concerts at Lincoln Center in New York City and at prominent venues in Washington, D.C., Cleveland, St. Louis, St. Paul, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Boston. They made their London debut last season at the Royal Academy of Music and have been guests on the national radio program St. Paul Sunday and NPR’s Performance Today. Their new CD for Koch Records features trios of Dvorák.

There will also be a violin master class on Sunday, December 10, at 10 a.m. in Brooks-Rogers, second floor of the Bernhard Music Center, to which members of the campus and community are also cordially invited.
