Using Generalized Reed-Solomon Codes for Error Correction by Nicholas Hollon '22
Using Generalized Reed-Solomon Codes for Error Correction by Nicholas Hollon ’22, Mathematics Colloquium, Wednesday, December 1, 1 – 1:45 pm, North Science Building 113, Wachenheim
Abstract: Generalized Reed-Solomon codes have a wide range of applications in the field of error correction from data transmission to correcting compressed data in storage systems. This talk will outline basic theory in the field of error correction before introducing generalized Reed-Solomon codes. Then, we will prove that generalized Reed-Solomon codes are some of the best codes for error correction.
