Turning off computers and printers Friday evening

Computers will occasionally perform maintenance operations at off-peak hours, like installing updates or defragging the storage drives.  There is always a small chance that a sudden power outage will have a negative effect on these operations.

It’s also a good idea to shut down or restart your computer at least once a week to refresh the operating system and recover resources.

Printers and copiers are likely to have fewer network issues when manually shut down via the power switch and then rebooted after power is back.

Since power will be shut off on Monday morning and then Monday night, we recommend doing this shutdown procedure again at the end of the day on Monday as well.
