Area D
an original play by Lour Yasin ’23
directed by Lour Yasin ’23
AREA D is a comedic musical that flips reality up on its head. It follows a band of misfits as they try to make their way to the top of Israel’s Eurovision to flip the status quo and make their voices heard. This musical follows the four rule-breakers as they try to break down the apartheid system they are caught in from within—one Rock-Eastern-Broadway fusion song at a time. As we watch our misfits deal with displacement, checkpoints, loss of citizenships, police/military brutality, and other not-so fun things, we will all laugh together along the way—apparently apartheid is funny like that.
