Giorgi Badridze, Senior Fellow at the Georgian Foundation for Strategic and International Studies in Tbilisi and former Georgian Ambassador to the UK, will present a lecture on “The Sources of Russian Misconduct and the New Cold War.” Ambassador Badridze participated in the first year of the Williams in Georgia exchange program and has maintained ties with Williams ever since. In his lecture he’ll discuss the sources of Russian foreign policy and their global implications in light of the war in Ukraine, touching on the regional security dynamics across the Eurasian continent and the relations between Russia and the West. He’ll consider such questions as how the Russia-Ukraine war might end, and under what terms a Russia-Ukraine peace deal might be possible.
Tuesday, September 19, 6pm, Griffin 3. Sponsored by the Dept. of German and Russian, Leadership Studies, Global Studies, the Oakley Center, the Lecture Committee, the Center for Global Languages, Literatures, and Cultures and the World War II Memorial Lecture Fund.
