Jonathan Rosen is a freelance journalist covering international affairs, with a particular focus on East Africa and Africa’s Great Lakes region. He has published in the New York Times, National Geographic, The Atlantic, Foreign Policy, Slate, and countless other high-profile outlets. He’ll be teaching a course on foreign correspondence at Tufts, his alma mater, this fall. Rosen’s talk will be targeted at students, focusing on the career possibilities of international journalism and the freelance lifestyle in general. He will discuss how he broke into the industry, what it’s like to report from a county like Kenya, give some practical advice to students who are considering careers in journalism, and detail the reporting process for a couple stories he’s done recently.
