Works under consideration and workshop projects from the first two weeks of STUDIO’62.
Williams College Theatre Department begins its second season of STUDIO’62, the 7-week summer immersion program for current Williams undergraduates. Designed to foster deep learning through creative experimentation, Studio’62 provides students with an intensive, collaborative immersion in the art and practice of making theatre.
The program consists of three major components: Masterclasses with professional artists, educators, and Williams College alumni; collaborative workshops with visiting artists; and independent projects overseen by STUDIO’62’s Artistic Program Director, Kevin O’Rourke (Williams class of ’78). Mr. O’Rourke is a Williamstown and New York City based actor/director and was the founder and Artistic Director of the Williams College Summer Theatre Lab, the precursor to STUDIO’62. He is known to Berkshire audiences for his work at Barrington Stage Company, Williamstown Theatre Festival, Berkshire Playwrights Lab and his television and film roles.
STUDIO’62 will have over 15 guest artists joining the summer’s program as performers and/or teachers. They include: Kim Stauffer, Michael Izquierdo (Williams ’00), Mikaela Izquierdo, Chris Kauffman, Erika Bailey (Williams ’94), Mia Hull (Williams ’17), Nate Weida, Amanda Keating (Williams ’12), Ilya Khodosh (Williams ’08), Eben Hoffer (Williams ’10) and the NYC based performance company HIT THE LIGHTS.
