Singularities in Prime Characteristic Commutative Algebra by Prof. Austyn Simpson, University of Michigan, Wednesday, July 13, 1 – 1:45 pm, North Science Building 113, Wachenheim.

Abstract:  The Frobenius endomorphism encodes delicate information about the singularities of a ring of prime characteristic. In this talk I will give a survey of such singularities to contextualize some of the ongoing investigations into tight closure theory at SMALL 2022.
