- This event has passed.
Professor Blackwood will discuss how mathematical models provide a useful tool for both understanding the transmission dynamics and evaluating the consequences of mitigation strategies for pathogens.
Julie Blackwood is an applied mathematician whose research is in disease ecology and, more broadly, the management of ecological systems. Blackwood develops and analyzes mathematical models that describe the population dynamics of ecological systems to uncover the drivers of observed complex dynamics as well as assess the potential impact of strategies for ecosystem management.
