The Sigma Xi Fall 2022 lecture will be delivered by Michael Allison, Research Associate and Associate of the Hopkins Observatory, on Friday, October 28th at 4:15 PM in the Bronfman Auditorium. The lecture title is “Planetary Atmospheric Motions: Explorations and Notions.”
Michael Allison is a space scientist and atmospheric dynamicist. During his long career at the NASA / Goddard Institute for Space Studies in New York City, he served on the science teams for several planetary flight projects, including the Cassini / Huygens mission to Saturn and Titan, and the Juno orbiter mission at Jupiter. Recently affiliated with Williams as a Research Associate in Astronomy, he will be teaching a 2023 Winter Study Program course on Space Pioneering. Allison earned his A.B. in Physics and English at Wittenberg and his Ph.D. in Space Physics and Astronomy at Rice University.
