Religion, Food Choices, and Sustainability

Monday, February 24th from 7-8:30pm  in Griffin 3. Sponsored by the Zilkha Center!

Many religions have specific food consumption patterns such as Halal, Kosher, and Vegetarianism.

  • Why do religions adhere to these food choices?
  • What overlaps exist between consumption patterns based on religious ideology and those based on environmental and sustainability ethics?
  • How can dining services balance providing for all of these dietary needs and choose the most sustainably sourced foods at Williams?

Explore these questions and more while hearing from student panelists and members of dining services! There will also be representative food!
