Quadratic Irrationals: Periodically Continuous, Fractionally Beautiful by Matt Kandel ’24, Monday April 22, 1:00 – 1:50pm, North Science Building 113, Wachenheim
Abstract: A square root has a somewhat ugly decimal expansion. But there is another entire way for expressing numbers: continued fractions. And every irrational square root has an eventually periodic continued fraction expansion. We will prove this result.
