Open Meetings on Spring 2021 Calendar Today and Tomorrow

The Calendar and Schedule Committee has drafted two proposals for the Spring 2021 calendar under the assumption that the public health situation is relatively unchanged in the Spring. Both models start later than usual to ease operational pressures and reduce overlap with flu season, and neither model includes a traditional two-week Spring break. The calendar discussion is separate from later decisions about commencement and related activities.  If you cannot attend the open meetings and would like to share your thoughts, feel free to reach out to Corinna Campbell (csc3@), Chair of the Calendar and Schedule Committee or Tara Watson (twatson@), Chair of the Faculty Steering Committee, or other representatives from either committee.

 

Option A: Continuous Model

(Students remain on campus for the full duration of the semester)

 

M 2/15: Classes begin

M-T 3/15-16: Reading Period

W-TH 4/21-22: Health Days

F 5/7: Health Day

M-T 5/17-18: Reading Period

 

 

Option B: ‘Thanksgiving’ Model

(Students vacate campus during Spring Break and finish out the semester learning remotely, as with the Fall)

 

M 2/15: Classes Begin

4/26-4/30: Spring Break

**All classes are remote for the remainder of the semester

M-T 5/17-5/18: Reading Period
