Sex trafficking is often misconceived as an epidemic affecting only women and children of Eastern Europe, Southeast Asia, and other Third World countries. However, in reality, human trafficking for sexual exploitation affects men, women, and children of all genders worldwide. In Wanted, choreographer Nikki Pérez ’18 and her cast showcase the realities and complexities of the international sex trade by highlighting the stories of four formerly trafficked individuals. Performed by Pérez and her peers, Alonso Villasmil ’18, Amber Lee ’21, and Nadiya Atkinson ’21, this 45-minute work draws upon various genres of dance, as well as, other interdisciplinary elements, such as, projection and spoken text.

Please, be advised that this work involves the performance of and recorded text about physically and sexually violent content. The text used throughout the performance includes explicit narratives from men and women involved in the sex trade. Be advised that this performance is not appropriate for children under the age of 16.
