Jamel Brinkley’s debut collection of short stories A Lucky Man has been nominated for numerous awards and honors. Trained at Iowa and currently appointed as a Stegner Fellow at Stanford University, Jamel writes fiction that is humane and generous. His work handles family relationships, chance encounters, and black masculinity with singular care.
