Jamel Brinkley’s debut collection of short stories A Lucky Man has been nominated for numerous awards and honors. Trained at Iowa and currently appointed as a Stegner Fellow at Stanford University, Jamel writes fiction that is humane and generous. His work handles family relationships, chance encounters, and black masculinity with singular care. Please join us for a a reading and discussion with the author on April 18 at 5 o’clock in Griffin 3. Reception to follow.
