Silver Lining, the band’s 15th album released in their 25 years together, exemplifies their musical evolution as a contemporary blues band — and how the blues can play center stage amongst a cast of varied genre influences. The album tells the story in the lyrical blues style of the band’s intrepid journey through the ups and downs of the last 25 years as one of the hardest working musical groups in New England.

25 years ago lead singer and founder of Misty Blues, Gina Coleman ’90, performed in the Williamstown Theater Festival production of “A Raisin In The Sun.” It was the festival’s first production with a predominantly African American cast; Ruben Santiago Hudson, Viola Davis, Kimberly Elise and Gloria Foster. Gina was cast as a gospel singer to offer a musical transition between the acts of the play. Upon the conclusion of the production, Ruben Santiago Hudson told Gina that her voice was perfectly suited for the blues and gifted her the cd collection “Men Are Like Streetcars.” The collection of 46 tracks by female blues artists from 1928 – 1969 moved Gina to start Misty Blues a few months later. Now, 25 years later Gina returns to perform for the first time in the same space where the seed of Misty Blues was planted.
Come experience the music from this album performed live for the first time. In addition to the performance of the album, the concert will also serve as the premiere of the documentary made by the creative team at Outpost Studios about the band, their music, and the stories that have been woven throughout their years together.
