DESCRIPTION:Star-Crossed Mathematics: Bridging Group Theory & Graph Theory by Nico Cavalluzzi ’23\, Mathematics Colloquium\, Wednesday\, October 19\, 1 – 1:45 pm\, North Science Building 113\, Wachenheim. \nAbstract: Frucht’s Theorem (1939) states that every finite group is isomorphic to the automorphism group of some graph. Naturally then\, Frucht’s theorem offers a novel and illustrative approach to linking the mathematical structures of groups and graphs. In this talk\, I will present historical background\, offer a proof of Frucht’s theorem\, and discuss interesting takeaways from the results. \n
