The exquisitely exuberant Maru-a-Pula Marimba Band of Gaborone, Botswana brings their joyous sound to Williamstown. This ten-piece student ensemble plays both traditional and contemporary marimba music on their North American tour. African marimba music has a long tradition at Williams, and the music department welcomes back the director Laone Thekiso, Class of 2012.
