Literary Death Match

- This event has passed.
Co-sponsored by the Department of English, Program in Comparative Literature, and The Book Unbound.
In our can’t-wait return to western Massachussetts, Literary Death Match is teaming with the masterminds at Williams College to put on a literary extravaganza at the ’62 Center of Theatre and Dance with excitements abound. Be there, be there, be there!
What is Literary Death Match? 4 authors read their own work for 7 minutes or less. They’re judged by 3 all-star judges who respond (often comedically) to the work before choosing 2 finalists to compete in the LDM finale, a vaguely literary game (think Pin the Mustache on Hemingway) to decide the ultimate champion.
Literary Merit: Roy Blount, Jr., humorist, poet, dramatist & author of 23 books (like Alphabetter Juice)
Performance: Muffy Plotner, drag queen and master-performer
Intangibles: Jim Shepard, award-winning author of six novels (Project X), and four story collections
* Jeff Parker, author of the novel Ovenman and the story collection The Taste of Penny
* Kelly Link, author of the short story collections Magic for Beginners and Pretty Monsters
* Elizabeth K. Gordon, (aka elizag) — performance poet and author of Love Cohoes
…and one more TBA!
Hosted by LDM creator Adrian Todd Zuniga
