This year Kusika revisits dance and music from the Caribbean that is rooted in Afro Cuban, Orisha and Afro Puerto Rican folklore. We will consider the movement, sound and visual practices that gave birth to diasporic citizenship, healing and innovation. Our collaborators this year include Kusika alumnae Arif Smith, Mayda del Valle’01, Robert Michelin’03, Jason Lucas’02 and our spring concert invites the community to join us for a manifestation of spirit and legacy.

Please join us on opening night for a post-performance reception with the artists.
