Join the Creating Law Enforcement Accountability & Responsibility Project (CLEAR) for a know-your-rights workshop covering what to expect while traveling, and how to handle searches, questioning, or profiling during your journey. Traveling can be stressful, including for those who are non-citizens with precarious immigration status (DACA, asylum seekers, student visa holders, etc.). This workshop will walk through how to protect your electronics, include role plays so that audience members can see and practice how to handle questioning, and provide guidance specific to non-citizens. In addition, the workshop will cover how First Amendment protected activity can come up during the immigration process, i.e. when applying for benefits or when crossing the U.S. border.
