Performed by Ed Gollin, the I/O Fest presents Tom Johnson’s Nine Bells. The piece is a minimalist work that requires the performer to walk specific pathways matrix of nine pitched bells, striking bells according particular cyclical rhythmic patterns.

Held each January in the ’62 Center for Theatre and Dance, the annual I/O Festival of New Music immerses audiences in the full spectrum of today’s most vital compositional trends. Over three days of new and adventurous music, the festival presents guest artists, the I/O Ensemble, and the student-run IOTA Ensemble in concert programs and additional events in unconventional public settings. I/O invites audiences to open their ears and minds and experience the music of now.
