Hyperbolicity of Staked Links by Prof. Colin Adams, Williams College, Wednesday June 26, 1:00 – 1:40pm, North Science Building 113, Wachenheim
Abstract: Knots and their projections have been studied for a long time. But what happens when you put stakes in regions of a knot projection, preventing it from moving across them? These are staked knots. We will consider how one can use hyperbolicity to understand staked knots.
