Hopkins Forest closed during hunting season

Hopkins Memorial Forest is closed though December 9th while hunting season is underway in Massachusetts, New York and Vermont. Hunters are active in the Forest and surrounding lands. Please respect the signage posted at the Forest and stay out of the area during this time.

While hunting is prohibited in Massachusetts on Sundays, hunters from VT and NY may still be active, and state borders aren’t clearly marked in the woods.

If you’re walking, jogging or biking near wooded areas or on rural roads during the season please wear orange or another very bright color.

Staying out of the woods for two weeks is hard to bear, but your life is deer.
