Gaming Elections: Understanding Candidate Goals vs. Strategies via Game Theory by Peri Cannavo ’24, Wednesday October 4, 1:00 – 1:50pm, North Science Building 113, Wachenheim
By treating elections as a non-cooperative n-person game we can understand more about how candidates behave. In particular, we will discuss different objectives candidates might have in elections and under what conditions certain objectives are in fact equivalent in terms of the equilibrium strategy employed to achieve them.
