Gale-Shapley & the Stable Marriage Problem by William Howie ’20, Mathematics Colloquium, Monday, November 18, 1 – 1:45 pm, Stetson Court Classroom 110
Abstract: Wouldn’t romance be better with a little more mathematics? We will discuss pairing problems, specifically the Stable Marriage Problem, to find an answer to this question. We will see how the Gale-Shapley algorithm solves this problem and brings forth a new set of challenges. Note: Any decisions made on the basis of this talk are so made at your own risk!
