The Class of ’71 Public Affairs Forum presents a discussion of issues relating to Global Public Health with Stephen Lewis of the Stephen Lewis Foundation and Laurie Garret, award-winning journalist. Stephen Lewis is Co-Director of AIDS-Free World; Professor in Global Health, McMaster University; former UN Special Envoy for HIV/AIDS in Africa. Garrett is the only journalist to be awarded The Peabody, The Polk (twice), and The Pulitzer. Garrett is also the best-selling author of The Coming Plague: Newly Emerging Diseases in a World Out of Balance and Betrayal of Trust: The Collapse of Global Public Health. This discussion will be moderated by Kiaran Honderich, Professor of Economics. Co-sponsored by the Lecture Committee.
