Please join Eric Fish ’96 as he presents his research regarding alcohol exposure on mice and recent studies on how specific genes can influence both the morphological and long-term behavioral consequences of fetal alcohol exposure. Dr. Fish will present 3 vignettes from his research, presenting two studies: one finding that a history of alcohol exposures can sensitize mice to the aggression heightening effects of alcohol; and one studying the effects of alcohol on intracranial self-stimulation in lines of mice selectively bred for differences in the effects of alcohol on locomotor activity. The second half of the talk will discuss recent studies on how specific genes can influence both the morphological and long-term behavioral consequences of fetal alcohol exposure.
