Research suggests that most people outlive their ability to safely drive a vehicle by seven to ten years. Do you want help with decisions about driving, for yourself or a loved one?
Join us 12-1 PM next Thursday, April 18, for an in-person session with Michele Ellicks from the Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles. Michele will describe the RMV’s Driving Decision program and take your questions.
If you’d like to attend, please submit an RSVP before noon, Monday, April 15.
Driving Decisions focuses on older driver safety, driver liability, driving retirement, as well as RMV licensing and medical policies, and is meant both for drivers and those who care about them. Topics include license renewal requirements and liability, older driver assessment, planning for driving retirement, reporting procedures and license surrender procedures. The program also identifies how medical conditions, functional impairments, and medications can impair driving.
Workshop attendees learn to identify the warning signs of unsafe driving, understand RMV policies and procedures, and learn techniques to use to prepare for driving retirement. (Michelle’s session will be an introduction to this program and the related concepts—not an actual Driving Decisions workshop.)
The session is open to all members of the Williams community and to local residents. Please RSVP so we can choose a location that can accommodate all those interested.
This event is sponsored by the Caretakers of Williams group, made possible through HR’s excellent Communications of Williams program. In other words… COW COW!
