Decomposing Senate Votes by Dustin Ping ’19 at the Mathematics Colloquium, 1 – 1:45 pm, Stetson Court Classroom 101
Abstract: Congressional votes form a crucial portion of American democracy. In this talk we will apply singular value decomposition, a useful tool in linear algebra, to Senate roll call votes to identify possible voting patterns and similarities among Senators.
