Informal Showings

Artist in Residence Erica Dankmeyer will offer Bodies in
Motion: Modern Dance Technique in Historic Context. This
course will examine the principles of Martha Graham’s
Technique by learning fundamentals of floor work and
standing. It will culminate in an informal showing in

Marimba Music from Southern Africa. Artist-in-Residence
Alport Mhlanga, Marimba master from the Maru Pula
School in Botswana, will introduce participants to the
playing techniques of the Southern African style marimba
as well as the traditional and contemporary repertoire
for the instrument. Students will share the music with
