Williams Concert Choir and the Williams Chamber Choir conducted by Noah Horn present their spring concert. Included on the program are special guests from the Amherst College Glee Club.

With the title Let Us Journey On this performance is a passage through time and musical sensibility. Highlights include pieces that feature many of the choir’s talented soloists. The concert begins with “Ad manus” from Membra Jesu nostri by Dieterich Buxtehude with soloists Sarah McGinn ’24, soprano; Leah Rosenman ’24, mezzo-soprano; Emily Ham ’22, mezzo-soprano; Oliver Hall ’23, tenor; and Matthew Williamson ’22, baritone, who also conducts the next piece, To the Hands, by Caroline Shaw. Alice Parker’s Beautiful dreamer features tenor Oliver Hall ’23. Goin’ Home by Diane Loomer is presented by Emily Ham ’22, mezzo-soprano. Jesu, meine Freude, BWV 227 by J.S. Bach, and Beethoven’s Elegischer Gesang, op. 118 follow in the program. Co-commissioned by Williams College and Amherst College is He’s Got the Whole World in His Hand by Brandon Waddles with soloists Emily Ham ’22 and Sarah McGinn ’24.

Williams College has long had a fine tradition of music performance in its choral ensembles. The choral program has much to offer students interested in singing, with a number of performances throughout the year, a wide range of repertoire, recordings and tours.
