The Williams College Department of Music presents Composers and Their Laptops on Sunday, April 29 at 3:00 p.m. in Chapin Hall on the Williams College campus. This free event is open to the public.

Featuring new works by contemporary composers, this concert includes The Harbingers, a new electronic chamber opera written by Kathryn Alexander with collaborator Juraj Kojs. Performance by Alexander and Kojs on electronics with Jen Beattie, mezzo-soprano and actress, and Margaret Lancaster, flute and actress. The Williams Percussion Ensemble and director Matt Gold team with composer Sam Pluta to perform his work, Signal Flow. Also, Neil Leonard of Berklee College of Music presents a composition titled Nocturnal Remix (2010) for alto saxophone and laptop. Jeffrey Roberts presents Song of the Roosting Crows (2011), a piece for the Chinese instrument called the guqin, and electronics. Mr. Roberts, a student of the instrument for many years in China, plays the guqin.
