Williams Brass Ensemble, led by Travis Dobson and Steve Felix features soloists and brass groups. There end of the year concert presents the best in chamber brass music.
The program includes Gabriel’s Oboe, from “The Mission” by Ennio Morricone. There is also an arrangement of Two Madrigals by Monteverdi: Ah, dolente partita (Ah, painful parting) and Quel Augellin, che canta (That little bird, which sings). Headlining the program is Morgenmusik (1932) by Paul Hindemith in three movements. Featured soloists include Paul Kim ’24, trumpet, playing Sonata for Cornet & Piano by Hansen. Nico Cavaluzzi ’23, trumpet offers Fantaisie by Thome. Andrew Megalaa ’23, trumpet performs a classic of brass literature The Maid of the Mist by Clarke. Sonata for Trumpet and Piano by Kennan is presented by Artie Carpenter ’25, trumpet.
