Join us for an evening with Dr. Tom Mallouk for a discussion of his book, “The Write Metaphor.”
Dr. Tom Mallouk has been a practicing psychotherapist for fifty years. For the past twenty, he has been transforming his interest in the healing possibilities of conversation and the spoken word into poetry.
He was named Bucks County Poet Laureate in November 2022 and leveraged his status to initiate, create and curate the Poet’s Corner, a weekly poetry feature in the Bucks County Herald which now publishes a poem each week from among the hundreds submitted by local Bucks County residents. His chapbook “Nantucket Revisited” was published in May, 2013. A second chapbook “The Write Metaphor” came out in June 2023 and is available for purchase here. A full-length volume titled “Rupture, Repair and Redemption” is forthcoming.
In addition to writing, Tom is an avid golfer and fisherman. He was featured in the spring 2023 issue of the Golf Association of Philadelphia Magazine for his accomplishments in poetry and golf. He hopes to soon take on the position of Poetry Editor for Trout magazine, the print publication for Trout Unlimited. He resides in Doylestown, PA with his wife Dr. Eileen Engle with whom he has raised two daughters, Kaitlin and Meghan.
