The Williams Bookstore welcomes Linda Patterson and Michael Sugarman for an evening of music on Saturday, October 26th, beginning at 6:00 PM at the bookstore.

Linda Patterson was born into a home of full of  music; her parents singing, records playing, her father trying to master Mozart on the Piano. Linda embraced the music of the 60s and 70s, inspired by singers as diverse as Smokey Robinson, Judy Collins, Emmylou Harris, and Aretha Franklin.  Linda obtained a Master’s in Fine Arts in Voice from Bennington College in 2003 and subsequently studied voice with Keith Kibler at Williams College.  Linda has developed a musical repertoire that spans classical and art song, Broadway, folk, spiritual and beyond.  In addition to traditional performance venues, Linda contributes her voice to fundraisers and other events in support of critical environmental and social justice issues.

Michael Sugarman taught himself the guitar as a teenager, and has played both rock and roll and folk music in bands and as a solo performer.  Michael eventually gravitated toward roots music, touring with bluegrass and traditional country bands in the Midwest and New England.  He is featured on several recordings of the Bear Bridge Band in Berkshire County, Massachusetts.  Michael continues to enjoy playing and singing folk, blues, and old-time country music.

Linda and Michael performed weekly from 1992-1994 at the “Acoustic Brew” coffeehouse at the Water Street Grill (previously known as Savories).

We hope you’ll  join us to welcome Linda and Michael back to Williamstown.
