Akram Khan: Xenos

Thursday, February 21st, 2019 @ 8:00 pm

In collaboration with Jacob’s Pillow, acclaimed British-Bangladeshi choreographer Akram Khan marks his final performances in a full-length work, XENOS, a riveting reflection on the legacy of World War I. Drawing from archival research, Khan has crafted a narrative of an Indian colonial soldier called to fight on behalf of the British empire. With unparalleled expressiveness and craft, Khan’s XENOS combines both contemporary dance and Indian kathak, revealing the tenuous place of traditional forms in the global sweep of imperial warfare.
