From three-time Obie Award-winner and Guggenheim Fellow Ain Gordon and acclaimed percussionist Josh Quillen comes Radicals in Miniature, an intimate requiem for friends found and lost during Gordon’s coming of age in the radical, queer, creative New York of the early 1980s and Quillen’s youth in small town Ohio in the late 90s. In a series of monologues honoring these not-quite-luminaries, Gordon and Quillen conjure an era lost to forces of politics, economics, and disease. In these small histories, Radicals in Miniature offers a radiant kind of self-portrait that begs us to consider what it might feel like to claim our own inherited histories and thus a place in the present that is anything but diminutive.
The post-performance Q&A will be hosted by Amy Holzapfel, Chair and Associate Professor of Theatre.
