A Conversation on the Constitution

In honor of Constitution Day, Wayne Hammond, Chapin Librarian at Williams College, will lead “A Conversation on the Constitution” on Monday, Sept. 18, at 4 p.m. in the Chapin Gallery (Sawyer Library Room 406). A reception will follow. The public is welcome and the event is free.

The Chapin Gallery is home to original printings of the Declaration of Independence, the Articles of Confederation, the U.S. Constitution (a draft from the Constitutional Convention), and the first amendments to the Constitution, as well as a British reply to the Declaration and George Washington’s copy of the Federalist Papers. These Founding Documents of the United States are on permanent display Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
