A Mathematical Model of DNA Methylation Dynamics by Dylan Taylor ’25, Wednesday October 16, 1:00 – 1:50pm, North Science Building 113, Wachenheim, Mathematics Colloquium
Abstract: DNA methylation is a biological process that regulates gene expression, consequently affecting disease progression and ageing. This talk proposes two distinct models for DNA methylation that consider the cellular processes that affect methylation status. These models complement the current biological understanding of DNA methylation by providing a framework for understanding how DNA methylation dynamics affect an individual’s health.
